Our client is SA’s leading supplier of affordable fashion accessories, stocking all the retail stores we know and love.

The ideal candidate will be young, driven and have relevant Key Account Management experience. The incumbent will be used to working with SA’s leading retailers in promoting and marketing merchandise. A strong new business developer with exceptional create flair on social media platforms and a passion for fashion will be an added advantage.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Junior Key Account & Social Media Manager who will be in an assistant role the National Sales & Merchandising Manager, reporting to the Marketing Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

Grow volume, revenue and share in the Key Account

  • Develop, sell, and execute effective ranges with identified customers
  • Develop and keep updated an account plan to the company’s standards per customer
  • Manage all key customer accounts, listings, and range executions
  • Develop specific standards for merchandising range, promotions and the like
  • Provide pre & post execution evaluation of marketing programs and communicate to the field
  • Monitor account profitability and forecasting

Execute plans with assigned customers

  • Communicate standards and customer commitments to the field
  • Issue a promotion calendar on a timely basis
  • Monitor performance and compliance, taking corrective action where necessary
  • Conduct Business Reviews with senior managers
  • Collect customer feedback

Setting objectives and tracking results

  • Set clear objectives that are consistent with company forecasts
  • Ensure all accounts are visited on an appropriate frequency
  • Ensure each team member sells effectively in the market place via the sales manager
  • Ensure clear communication and adherence of pricing and promotions
  • Review progress vs objectives on a bi-weekly basis
  • Analysis of images from field and merging with set planographic regulations

Identify & Win New Business

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities (new distribution / new customers) & develop targets to secure

Coaching

  • Assess performer capability and provide development feedback
  • Model desired behaviors & skills during coaching sessions
  • Deliver group training as required
  • Lead problem solving and address team issue

Monitor sales and merchandising

  • Monitor current sales and merchandising standards
  • Analyze current in-store planograms and rework them to maximize shelf share and shape
  • Providing management with reports identifying problem areas and presenting possible solutions
  • Monitor and communicate store relays and changes with Sales Manager
  • You will be required to fulfill the National Sales and Merchandising Manager’s function if they are absent for whatever reason

Client Liaison

  • Liaise directly with key accounts and buyers
  • Solve client issues
  • Communicate, develop, and process campaigns, ideas, and action solutions
  • List lines and ensure full range capacity at all clients
  • Visit key accounts regularly and assist buyers to tailor ranges in accordance with need
  • Prepare for Key Account reviews and set up reviews wherever necessary

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Marketing or Business degree
  • Additional sales training preferred
  • 2 or more years’ Key Account Management experience (preferably in retail)
  • Experience with retailers and merchandising
  • Must have advanced level of Excel proficiency
  • Photoshop
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Own Vehicle

Working hours

Monday to Thursday from 7:30 to 16:15.

The nature of your duties may require staff to work at times other than the normal stipulated hours of work.
