We are searching for a dynamic Social Media Coordinator to join the Jacaranda FM Digital Team. The successful incumbent will be based at Midrand and service Jacaranda FM, a division of Kagiso Media (Pty) Ltd.
The social media coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of all Social Media Channels. While this role focuses on social media channels, the person will also be required to work alongside the digital lead to establish the overall digital strategy and implementation thereof.
This person would be responsible for content creation and community management on all social media platforms, current, and future platforms.
Stimulating and moderating discussion across social media platforms.
Managing and creating new content across relevant social channels.
Exploring ways to leverage audience discussion and feedback across media for research and engagement purposes.
Exercising sound editorial judgment, ensuring compliance with copyright restrictions.
Mastering the use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google, and YouTube platforms and driving results using these channels daily.
Execute and own social strategy and station events.
Identify emerging social trends and educate the team as well as communicate how the station can take advantage of these trends and opportunities.
Administer engagement on all social platforms, including taking part in social customer interactions.
Advise on the best way to communicate campaigns, events, and key messages socially using the correct channels in line with best practices and successful case studies.
Use tools to provide reports on community health and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through new initiatives.
Daily duties include:
Oversee the implementation of Social Media strategy across all platforms.
Work closely with video to create brand videos.
Proactively pitch social media ideas to promote the station and/or specific shows.
Manage Media Mark Briefs.
SM budget tracking (in collaboration with the lead).
Handle Marketing event briefs- and do coverage at events.
Scheduling alongside Digital Intern.
Copywriting for social media touchpoints.
Writing of articles on an ad hoc basis.
Assist the lead with reporting.
Qualifications and competencies:
Bachelor’s degree/media diploma (An educational background in communication, journalism, or digital media is preferred).
Experience managing social media for a brand by crafting engaging posts using text, photos, and videos to drive sharing, likes, and click-throughs.
Show proven results for campaigns and communities already managed.
Demonstrated ability to attract and engage a broad audience using social media tools.
Experience in identifying content with viral appeal for a target audience
Familiarity with social listening platforms and technologies (e.g., Radian6, Lithium, Brandseye, Meltwater, Hootsuite etc).
Experience with engaging with online influencers and ability to identify key influencers in line with brand essence.
Budget management expertise.
Background in digital and social analytics. Attributes:
